LED lighting two errors

Time is the touchstone for testing truth. In the recent period, investment in LED lighting has become a hot topic, and it can even be described as fanaticism. As a result of many problems in the application of "relentless", forcing people's minds to become awake, the understanding of LED lighting back to the rational track, forcing some people with a head to start thinking calmly.

Through "frenzy" phenomenon, we should seriously reflect on our understanding of LED lighting in order to correct our thinking, strategic direction and scientific research methods.

The author believes that at present, many people fall into two misunderstandings about LED light sources, lighting and applications.

Misunderstanding: The chip equals the light source.

The electric light source has strict technical standards, and various requirements such as contrast, lumens, color rendering, color temperature, power, light decay, harmonics, and life span have strict requirements. This is in itself the result of more than 100 years of scientific progress in electric light sources. . A chip or a PN junction, although a generalized light source, is merely a luminous element in terms of a standard electric light source and is by no means a standard electric light source. The manufacture of chips as a variety of standard electric light sources is not a simple patchwork but a scientific design and combination that requires a lot of technological innovations in materials, electronics and other related fields, and requires a lot of scientific experimentation. An electric light source that does not equal the modern meaning and has strict standards.

However, many “experts” or “officers” have changed their concepts in their speeches, confusing common sense, ignoring science, and promoting blindly. Such experts or local government agencies promote LED lighting, either “do not understand” or “understand”. Either "understanding" and "not understanding", it is all due to ulterior motives, arrogance of the country, and full of the interests of all parties.

Misunderstanding 2: The light source equals lighting.

There is "light" to illuminate. That's right. Torches, candles, and oil lamps have all been used as lighting sources for a long time, and they are still playing a role in lighting in some areas without electricity. However, in the 21st century, today, those are the original lighting, which is the lighting that adapts to the social patterns and productivity at that time. Today, if you use an LED chip compared with torches and oil lamps, you will be ridiculed. Certainly someone will say that LED lighting is a high technology. However, an indisputable fact is that some people use the single light source, a PN junction, as the light source and the entire lighting, and do the "self-flirting yourself."

Due to the characteristics of the LED light source itself, such as strong directionality, heat dissipation, driving, and optical processing are required, which determines that the LED as a light source must be "the maturity of the entire system." In this sense, or from the point of view of modern lighting, light emission is not necessarily a “lamp.” In the case of LED lighting, a single light source is never equal to lighting.

There is a long way to go from a PN junction to a light source of modern significance, to science-based lighting that suits the environment, and to green lighting. This includes a deepening understanding of LED lighting, advances in materials and technology, and equipment manufacturing and application. The secondary development of the product, especially the maturity of the system, the appropriate cost performance and the scale of production, can not do these points, and the large-scale promotion and application is only a beautiful "vision" and embarrassment.
