For chip companies, this is a severe test and a rare opportunity. There are two kinds of chips for automotive applications: one is an industrial chip with a relatively low price, and the other is a chip with a relatively high price specially developed for automobiles. There is a certain gap between the reliability of these two chips.

Liu Luwei said that in general, chip products have to undergo multiple tests. Although the test items of industrial chips and automotive chips are basically the same, the number of tests is quite different. For example, in the thermal shock test, each industrial chip only needs to pass 50 tests, and each car chip has to pass 1000 tests, which is 20 times that of industrial chips. In the thermal cycle test, each industrial chip needs to pass 5000 tests, and the car chip has to go through 10,000 tests. Therefore, the reliability of automotive chips is generally higher than that of industrial chips.

"In pursuit of high reliability, companies producing medium-to-high-end cars currently basically purchase automotive chips, while some companies producing low-end cars still purchase industrial chips." To overcome the difficulty of battery management system
