Poland's first nuclear power plant construction is expected to cost 904-142 billion euros

According to government sources, PGE EJ, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Polish Energy Group PGE, will spend 350-550 billion zloty (about EUR 904 million) to build the first nuclear power plant (3 million kilowatts) in Poland. PGE plans to start the bidding process in July this year. It is expected that the entire process will continue for two years, that is, until mid-2013, it will be able to finally determine what kind of technology will be used and where to build the nuclear power plant. It is estimated that the start of construction will be completed by 2016. At present, PGE has signed three memoranda with some international contractors, namely, the French Electric Power Company, General Hitachi Nuclear Energy U.S. Corporation and Westinghouse Electric Company.
