Qualcomm Quick Charge technology supports an ever-increasing mobile experience

SAN DIEGO, April 13, 2016 - Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) today announced that its subsidiary Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. has made significant progress in the deployment and adoption of Qualcomm® Quick ChargeTM 3.0 technology. Since Qualcomm Technologies introduced the Qualcomm SnapdragonTM 820 processor, several of the latest flagship smartphones are equipped with the latest generation of Quick Charge technology, including the HTC 10 just released. More compatible Quick Charge terminals and certified accessories are expected to be released in the coming months. The rapid growth in the number of Quick Charge consumer terminals helps demonstrate the high value that this technology provides to consumers and mobile device manufacturers.

For the first time, Quick Charge 3.0 uses the Intelligent NegoTIaTIon for OpTImum Voltage (INOV) algorithm. This new algorithm, developed by Qualcomm Technologies, is designed to help portable devices have the ability to select the required power level to achieve optimal power transfer at any time and maximize efficiency. With Quick Charge 3.0, charging a typical phone from zero to 80% takes about 35 minutes, in contrast to traditional mobile devices that don't have Quick Charge. The new generation of Quick Charge has a 27% faster charging speed than the previous generation and can achieve efficiencies of up to 45%. At the same time, it is also compatible with forward and backward versions of Quick Charge. Like its predecessor, Quick Charge 3.0 fits into a variety of connectors for USB Type-A, USB micro, USB type-c or other proprietary connectors.

Just six months after its launch, Quick Charge 3.0 has been widely adopted by OEMs and ODMs worldwide. Prior to this, Quick Charge technology already had a strong ecosystem. Overall, more than 70 terminals and 200 accessories support one of the two latest versions of Quick Charge, and more terminals and accessories are under development.

Quick Charge technology is being integrated into multiple product categories, including:

· Smartphones such as HTC 10, LeTV Super Pro Max Pro, LG G5 and Xiaomi Mobile 5

· Mobile power, from APE Technology, DBK, Elecjar, RAVPower and Voxlink

· Next-generation computing platforms, such as HP Elite x3 (the first Windows-based terminal) that supports Quick Charge

Other product categories using Quick Charge technology are expected to be available in 2016.

Zhu Jiyu, CEO of Elecjar, said, "Consumers don't want their phones to be connected to wall outlets; so we realize the value by integrating the latest Qualcomm Quick Charge technology into mobile power.
