Report Says Global Mobile Device Growth Slows in Second Quarter

According to the report of Dell'Oro, an authoritative international analysis agency, the growth rate of the global mobile device market in the third quarter slowed down by 5% year-on-year.

The growth rate of 5% in the third quarter was lower than the previous quarters. The growth rate was 17% in the second quarter and 14% in the first quarter.

However, this growth trend is in line with the expectations of equipment manufacturers. Nokia Siemens predicts that market growth will slow in 2010. Alcatel-Lucent expects this year's growth rate to be 0-5%.

Ericsson maintained its leading position with a market share of 33.7%, Huawei followed with a 20.6% share, and Nokia Siemens’ market share was 19.8%, a slight decrease from 20.8% in the second quarter.
