Samsung's strong layout LED 2010 revenue is expected to reach 1.2 billion US dollars

In the context of the country's vigorous promotion of low-carbon energy-saving, flat-panel TVs have also been equipped with "energy-efficient trains." Recently, the national standard for "flat-panel TV energy efficiency limit value and energy efficiency rating" was officially released, and it is planned to be implemented on December 1 this year. At that time, color TVs that do not reach the lowest level of energy efficiency will be delisted. In this regard, industry insiders pointed out that the introduction of the New Deal will further push energy-saving products to the forefront of consumption. LED TVs that are more energy-efficient and energy-saving than traditional flat-panel TVs will become the “new darling” of the market, leading the consumption trend in the tablet field.

As a flat-panel rookie, led TV is the focus of Chinese and foreign color TV manufacturers. After the implementation of energy efficiency standards this year, the competition in the LED field will be more intense. The upstream industry chain represented by Samsung has obvious cost advantages and service system upgrades. Domestic manufacturers have also invested in panel production lines. As the LED boom continues to heat up, flat-panel TVs will enter the era of “all-war”. Samsung, which is developing rapidly in the LED field and well-positioned, is expected to lead the competition and occupy the commanding heights of the industry.

Outstanding advantages in energy saving

LED TV into a strategic product

According to the national standard, the energy efficiency of flat-panel TVs is divided into three levels, one level represents the best energy-saving effect, the second level is the energy-saving product evaluation level, and the third level is the market access level. This means that if the product does not meet the three-level energy efficiency standards, it will not be able to enter the market.

Some experts pointed out that LED TV has obvious advantages in power saving. Generally speaking, the power consumption of a 55-inch LED TV is equivalent to that of a 32-inch LCD TV. In the sampling, LED TVs that can reach the first-class energy efficiency level are up to 90%.

With its outstanding energy-saving advantages and the price slowly approaching LCD, LED TV has become the first choice of many consumers. According to relevant survey data, the retail sales of LED-backlit LCD TVs in the first half of 2010 was 925,000 units, with a market share of 10.6%. In particular, the second quarter saw more than double the size of the first quarter. According to industry analysts, this group of data indicates that LED has entered a stage of rapid growth, and as a substitute for traditional LCD liquid crystal and mainstream transformation products, LED has become a strategic product of major domestic and foreign major color TV manufacturers.

In this context, Chinese and foreign mainstream color TV companies have expressed that they will actively respond to the requirements of flat-panel TV energy efficiency standards, eliminate low-energy products in advance, and pave the way for the development of LED TV. At present, Changhong, Skyworth, Konka, Samsung, Sharp and other mainstream color TV companies have set off the action of cleaning up the inventory of low-efficiency products, tilting the product line to LED. Many brands of LED TVs have far exceeded LCD TVs, and prototypes at store terminals. On the display, LED TV is also the absolute main force. At the same time, news from the terminal stores said that Suning has completely stopped purchasing low-energy-efficient flat-panel TVs, and has actively engaged with color TV manufacturers to purchase high-efficiency and environmentally-friendly color TVs.

Lu Jianbo, deputy secretary-general of the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce, also suggested that consumers should pay more attention to energy efficiency rating indicators and energy-saving products when purchasing flat-panel TVs in the future.

Flat panel energy efficiency test

Samsung LED TV performance is eye-catching

The implementation of the energy efficiency standards for flat-panel TVs is on the verge of expediting the promotion of high-energy-efficiency products represented by LED TVs. On September 21, the “2010 Seminar on the Effectiveness of National Standard Test Results for Flat-panel TVs” was held in Beijing. The conference released the self-checking results of the energy efficiency rating of the color TV industry organized by the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce and the Digital Television Standards Compliance Testing Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Samsung 3D LED C7000 TV won the title of “Energy Saving Star” issued by the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology with the final inspection result of 0.07W extremely low standby power. It is reported that Samsung TV, which will be sold in the market soon, will unanimously post the “Energy Efficiency Label”.

Flat-panel TVs are energy-efficient from the initial 5 watts to 3 watts to an amazing 0.07 watts. Samsung is the record holder. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Tianjin Research and Development Department Li Xinyan said that Samsung TV is very focused on energy saving and environmental protection. LED components are used without any heavy metal materials to reduce environmental damage. In addition, through the advancement of various aspects such as luminous efficiency, light guiding efficiency, and light transmittance, Samsung TV energy efficiency has been greatly improved.

2010 revenue is expected to reach $1.2 billion

Samsung led dance LED industry

In 2009, Samsung launched the world's first ultra-thin LED TV. According to market research firm NPD, Samsung achieved a 62.1% sales share in the US 120Hz/240Hz flat-panel TV market in May, an increase of 9 percentage points from April. It also achieved a market share of 55.6% in sales, an increase of 9.1% from April. Since the beginning of this year, with the continuous launch and sales of LED TVs with complete sizes and strong lineups, Samsung has once again grabbed the limelight and firmly occupied the leading position in the LED field.

With the continuous development of the LED TV industry, the market demand for LED light-emitting diodes has grown rapidly. Samsung is the fastest growing international manufacturer of TFT LCD steering LEDs, and is also the most well-established manufacturer in the LED field. At present, Samsung has a leading edge in LED light-emitting diode production capacity. The LED light-emitting diodes produced are not only used in TVs, monitors, etc., but also widely used in energy-saving and environmentally-friendly emerging lighting equipment.

It is estimated that Samsung LED's revenue in 2010 is expected to reach about 1.2 billion US dollars, by then, Samsung will more firmly occupy the dominant position in the global LED industry.

LCD TV three pack service upgrade

Samsung leads the service competition

The after-sales service of flat-panel TVs has been receiving much attention. After the implementation of energy efficiency standards, the competition between manufacturers will continue to burn into the service field. Recently, Samsung took the lead in adjusting its LCD TV three-pack service policy, and upgraded the “LCD screen warranty for three years” policy to all users, canceling the restrictions on the purchase time. Subsequently, foreign color TV brands Sony, LG, etc. quickly followed up and adjusted their respective service policies. Industry insiders said that Samsung is the first to upgrade the LCD TV warranty policy, which is expected to trigger a new round of service upgrade "race". Especially after the Golden Week price war, mainstream manufacturers including domestic brands will act on the service.

At the same time as foreign-funded flat-panel brand upgrade services, domestic flat-panel brands collectively exerted their strength on panel production. As we all know, the panel occupies 60%-80% of the cost of flat-panel TVs. Whoever masters the panel technology can hold the throat of the TV market. To this end, domestic manufacturers are working hard. At present, the Panda 6th generation line will be fully put into operation this year, and the 8.5-generation production line of TCL Group is also under construction. As a producer of domestic plasma panels, Changhong has been involved in the panel field since 2005. However, industry insiders pointed out that this still does not solve the "panel shortage" of domestic TV manufacturers, and a round of profit-seeking "screen-making movement" has risen.
