Supports 8K/120fps signal transmission superMHL debut

HDMI dominates the video market, DisplayPort can only do its best to develop in the PC field, but the output of mobile devices has always been a state of melee, HDMI has not paid attention to this piece, the new standards such as MHL, SlimPort emerge in endlessly, but unfortunately not one can Popularized.

The MHL 3.0 specification was born at the MWC conference in 2014 and has not yet been digested by the market. In 2015, the CES created a new superMHL, which looks very fierce, but one year has passed without a product.

This year's CES did not have a new MHL standard, but finally got a little news about the product. LG showed the 98-inch 7680×4320 8K-class ultra-high-definition TV “98UH9800” at the show, which has been confirmed to be equipped with superMHL, which is the first and the only product of its kind.

Of course, this also shows the superMHL's capability, because it can support 8K/120fps signal transmission, while the previous generation MHL 3.0 can only support 4K/30fps.

48-bit color depth, BT.2020 wide color gamut, HDR signal, HDCP 2.2 protection protocol, Dolby Atmos/DTS: X surround sound, 40W power supply, etc. are all new additions to superMHL, and remain backward compatible.
To support this versatility, superMHL also has its own 32-pin interface, both positive and negative pluggable, and with the MHL replacement mode, USB Type-C can also support superMHL.

DisplayPort is unsuccessful in the audio and video market. Can superMHL stand out? There is no such sign yet. Look at the major electronics manufacturers can not accept this new interface.
