LEDronics develops daylight visible RGB diodes

LEDtronics, based in Torrance, Calif., recently introduced a less attractive RGB-1007-001 four-pin via, red, green and blue LED.

The LED measures 4.9 x 6.5 x 0.15 mm and delivers high intensity in a 120 degree viewing range. The red LED has a wavelength of 635 nm, the green LED has a wavelength of 520 nm, and the blue LED has a wavelength of 470 nm.

The RGB-1007-001 LED with LEDtronics OptiLED light tube simplifies the spatial relationship between the printed circuit board and the remote indicator illumination point. Through the light pipe channel, all LEDs are precisely positioned to the position where light is needed.

The RGB-1007 series of LEDs are suitable for computer backlight panels, automotive instrument panels, handheld instruments such as PDAs, and data and communication status indicators. The solid-state design makes the LED resistant to electromagnetic shock and vibration. The average life of LEDs is 100,000 hours (11 years) or more.
