The industry combines the advantages of two green energy sources, LED and solar, and is the best solution in some applications. How to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages between solar LED lighting and traditional lighting? In which direction will the future solar LED lighting technology develop? Many problems urgently require industry people to think and solve, leading the healthy and rapid development of this industry. The “2009 PV&LED Technology and Cooperation Forum” held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center on October 14 complied with the requirements of industrial development, and discussed the issues and prospects of solar LED lighting in depth, and achieved fruitful results.

The forum was held concurrently with the "6th China International Semiconductor Lighting Exhibition and Forum" and the "5th Delis China International Solar Photovoltaic (Shenzhen) Exhibition", which was held by Gaogong LED, Shenzhen Solar Energy Society and National Semiconductor Lighting. Co-sponsored by the Engineering Research and Development and Industry Alliance, it is the first forum in China with the theme of solar LED lighting. According to the organizer, the forum invited famous manufacturers such as Philips, 泓昱 Lighting, Destar Optoelectronics, Xiamen Guanyu as guest speakers, Gaogong LED Industry Research Center, Shenzhen Solar Energy Society, Shenzhen Electronic Product Quality Inspection. Solar LED lighting industry enters accelerated period

What are the future domestic and international market prospects for solar LED lighting? What problems are domestic solar LED lighting manufacturers currently facing? Dr. Zhang Xiaofei, senior analyst of the High-tech LED Industry Research Center, made a comprehensive interpretation of this. He pointed out that many domestic solar PV manufacturers will go bankrupt. The cost of foreign photovoltaic cells is 25-30 US dollars, while the domestic cost is as high as 70-100 US dollars, while 90% of China's photovoltaic cells are used for export. However, he believes that excess production capacity can be used for solar LED lighting.

Zhang Xiaofei believes that the current PV-LED street lights are more than the LED street lights. The PV-LED street lights are not retrofit projects, and the requirements are not high. He quoted a recent test from the American Lighting Research Center as saying that the performance of solar LED lamps can be comparable to traditional street lamps and has good energy-saving effects.

According to the statistics of the high-tech LED product catalogue, there are currently 1487 solar LED enterprises in China, and Guangdong and Zhejiang each account for 1/3 each. The future prospects of solar garden lights are promising.

At the meeting, Wang Hongbo, the emerging technology manager of Philips Lighting (China), introduced the application and design of the off-grid solar lighting system in the pyramid bottom market. At present, 1.6 billion people in the world mainly use kerosene lamps and candles. Philips and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs have jointly developed new light sources to meet the requirements of this market. Solar LED lighting is their main choice. The company believes that the market for this 1.6 billion population will be their profit growth point.

The off-grid solar LED lighting system introduced by Wang Hongbo includes modules such as solar panels, battery management, light source, detection and control, and user interface. The system is capable of achieving initial cost, modular design, high performance and high efficiency, long life and low maintenance.

Wang Hongbo believes that the current cool white LEDs are more suitable for lighting sources than CFL lamps. It can effectively reduce the power configuration and battery capacity of solar modules and improve the utilization of solar energy by the system.

In recent years, a new type of luminaire, a wind-solar complementary LED street light, has been created to effectively compensate for the defects of solar LED lighting by increasing wind power generation. Li Guangshi, the chief engineer of the domestic well-known landscape complementary LED street lamp manufacturer 泓昱 Lighting, introduced their application case. These cases include Xi'an Tongchuan 50W LED street light, Zhejiang Ningbo 60W LED street light, Yunnan Dali 80W LED street light, and Shenzhen Shuiguan high-speed 150W LED street light.

Zhang Hui pointed out that the garden lights and landscape lights made by using such flexible solar cells have the following advantages: beautiful appearance, good uniformity, high durability, strong and weak optical advantages, no heat island effect, intelligent control, and the like. Compared with traditional mains garden lights, solar garden lights have the advantages of convenient installation, no electricity, no safety hazards and high life.

Zou Shenglun, Director of Technical Business of Destar Optoelectronics Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. gave the company's opinion. He believes that the current main application products are solar street lights, garden lights, solar black light insecticidal lamps, solar traffic lights, etc. Building integrated photovoltaic products have been favored by more and more people because of their aesthetic value and price advantage.

The existing solar energy systems include solar outdoor lighting systems, grid-connected power generation systems, wind-solar complementary systems, and solar-powered telecommunications systems. Zou Shenglun lists the characteristics and key technologies of each system. Zou Shenglun believes that the shortening of battery life is due to the corrosion of the grid by sulfuric acid, external corrosion increases the interconnect resistance, excessive gassing will cause electrolyte loss and plate loss.

For urban solar applications, Zou Shenglun believes that the following applications can be focused on: the plaza landscape grid-connected system provides lighting power, rain-proof grid-connected solar bus stations, and solar parking lots.

The comprehensive performance of LED street lamps has reached or exceeded the traditional street lamps

In April this year, Wu Chunhai, the head of the Shenzhen Street Lamp Management Office, proposed the critical point of LED streetlight application at a forum. After the recent Shenzhen LED streetlight test, did he still insist on this view? In this forum, he gave the latest views. He pointed out that according to the results of this LED street light test, it can be confirmed that the critical point of LED street light application has arrived, but the critical point does not mean that spring is coming.

LED street light test results show that the overall lighting effect of LED street lights is still different from CosmoPlis (Philips warm white light system), 250W and 400W sodium lamps. Wu Chunhai believes that it is a realistic choice to achieve better application of light efficiency by increasing the utilization factor. From the application of light effects, better LED street lights have surpassed CosmoPlis and 250W sodium lamps, close to 400W sodium lamps, and the main road applications have already exposed. Taking into account the energy-saving effect and comparative advantages, Wu Chunhai suggested that the current LED street lights should be based on the narrow roads and branches of the road, and then gain the advantage and then infiltrate into the main road.

Among the test results, there are 24 LED street lights with an average light attenuation between 100W and 150W sodium lamps. There is still a big gap with CosmoPlis, but the data of LED street lamps with less light decay is very close to CosmoPlis. Inferred from the laboratory's 2000-hour light decay of 1.2%, the goal of 3,000 hours of light decay of 4% can be achieved, and 25,000 hours of life can be achieved.

Wu Chunhai believes that rectangular light spots are conceptual hype, and have no substantial impact on uniformity and lighting effects. The use of a rectangular spot helps to increase the utilization factor, but has a certain effect on the light extraction rate of the lens. In this test, there are 8 LED street lights with rectangular illuminance curves, and there is no obvious advantage from the scene lighting effect.
