Lighting industry new standards implementation

The mandatory national standards for lamps and lanterns will be implemented from January 1st onwards, and the least secure type 0 lamps will be eliminated. The quality supervision expert reminds that at present, household lamps with two plugs and no grounding line mostly belong to category 0 lamps. Citizens should not neglect their existing safety hazards because they are accustomed to long-term use or simply for the sake of beauty.

According to reports, in the past, lamps and lanterns were divided into 0, I, II, and III categories according to the category of protection against electric shock. The higher the level, the safer the lamps. Among them, Category 0 luminaires have the worst safety, relying only on a thin layer of insulation on the wires to protect against electric shock. The wire of such a lamp usually has only one layer of rubber, and the plug has no grounding port. Once the rubber on the surface of the wire is aged or damaged, it is easy to cause a safety accident such as electric shock and fire. Therefore, the new standard will formally delete the class 0 lamps.
