On June 3, Nichia filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Arrow Electronics Australia Pte Ltd (hereinafter referred to as "Arrow") at the Australian Federal Court New South Wales Registry based on its YAG patent (Australian Patent No. 720234). A number of LED products manufactured by Taiwanese LED manufacturer Yiguang and imported by Arrow and sold in Australia, request the court to issue an injunction, and request compensation or return the benefits.
Nichia said that the product model for the patent infringement lawsuit, including 62-217D/QK2C-S5050R1R3B42Z15/2T, 62-217D/QK2C-S5757R1R3B42Z15/2T, 62-217D/QK2C-S6565R1R3B42Z15/2T, 45-21S/ KK2C -S5757L1L4B2Z3/2T, etc.; and subsequent follow-up will continue to take the necessary measures against any patent infringing company to protect its patents and other intellectual property ownership.
In response to this patent infringement lawsuit, Yiguang said on June 4 that the company's products did not infringe Japan's patents. Yiguang stressed that the patent is invalid and the company will assist Arrow in counterattack in the Australian Federal Court.
Japan’s Patent Office No. 4530094, which has invalidated all requests, has been one of the patent families of the Japanese patent. In order to counter the actions of Japan and Asia, Yiguang issued invalid patents for Japan and Asia in various major regions of the world. Yiguang said that over the years, it will continue to develop new products, materials and new processes. In the future, it will continue to deepen the ownership of intellectual property and strengthen product competitiveness.
