On December 1st, Mastercard (MA) has developed artificial intelligence to reduce the number of credit card transactions that were terminated due to misidentification as fraud.
Algorithms that support the new Decision Intelligence service evaluate traditional risks and forecasts for shoppers.
Ajay Bhalla, President of Corporate Risk and Security, Mastercard said that Mastercard also monitors global shopping and fraud trends through activity and future transactions on the credit card processing network. He said that collecting all the data into the Decision Intelligence algorithm allows for more accurate risk scoring. Mastercard has tested the above services at several banks, although no bank has signed an agreement so far.
The company has used artificial intelligence to detect fraud in other areas to help salespeople interact with customers, and bank and customer chat bots have used artificial intelligence.
Many companies in the holiday shopping season have closed their technology systems to guard against potential interference from huge traffic. After the holiday season, this service is expected to win customers in the coming months.
