STMicroelectronics launches virtual laboratory to help audio product engineers innovate

STMicroelectronics (ST) has released a set of virtual audio labs to provide engineers with sophisticated audio design and evaluation functions for SoundTerminal â„¢ audio chips and digital MEMS microphones. Users can download the software for free.

Audio Processor Workbench is the first solution on the market that can comprehensively evaluate the entire audio acoustic chain from microphone to amplifier to speaker. This set of evaluation tools goes far beyond the common device configuration GUI application software, and provides a variety of high-end functions that are only available on high-end tuning devices.

Engineers can use this set of tools to evaluate the entire audio subsystem of new audiovisual equipment, multimedia PCs, smartphones, tablets, or music dock systems, as well as verify performance and configure and tune each component. This set of tools is simple and easy to use, so that the long and time-consuming tuning process can be completed in just a few minutes.

Andrea OnetTI, General Manager of Analog and Audio System Product Department of STMicroelectronics, said: "Audio Processor Workbench brings unprecedented value to designers, and is also a cost-effective production test and quality control tool, which has applied many The digital audio experience learned during the collaboration provides customers with the functionality needed to design new products with excellent audio performance. "

In addition, the built-in support for STMicroelectronics ’MEMS microphones further expands the capabilities of audio system designers, making it easy to implement advanced features such as speech recognition and noise suppression in new product designs.

technical details:

As a full-featured virtual laboratory, Audio Processor Workbench allows designers to obtain advanced measurement instrument functions such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, level meters, and parameter equalizers on desktop computers.

Audio Processor Workbench's graphical interface allows users to use the advanced IP functions inside ST audio chips to fully control the sound channel, use the full digital characteristics of audio input and output devices, and transmit the captured acoustic signals to a personal computer. The audio IP technology performs digital processing, auditioning the tuning channel, and the whole process is completely real-time. Audio Processor Workbench supports STMicroelectronics digital MEMS microphones and most SoundTerminal chips, including analog digital audio processors, codecs, headphone amplifiers, filters and signal conditioning equipment. It also supports all STMicroelectronics audio evaluation boards and the recently launched STA321MP STSmartVoice digital MEMS microphone evaluation kit. Designers can use STAudioHub to easily connect PCs and hardware devices, such as prototype designs or STMicroelectronics evaluation boards, and quickly start analyzing hardware performance.

Barium titanate lead-free piezoelectric ceramics are important basic materials for the development of modern science and technology, which was widely used in the manufacture of ultrasonic transducers, underwater acoustic transducers, electroacoustic transducers, ceramic filters, ceramic transformers, ceramic frequency discriminators, high voltage generators, infrared detectors, surface acoustic wave devices, electro-optic devices, ignition and detonation devices, and piezoelectric gyroscope and so on.

Application:  military, ocean, fishery, scientific research, mine detection, daily life and other fields.
